Cat Lovers Love Our~~~Chief Feline Officers~~~Stosh and Lilli

A Feral Cat Rescue success story...
Former feral Cats Stosh and Lilli of Meow.com
Stosh was found with his sister Lilli,in a woodpile behind our house in April 1997. The little feral kittens were starving because momma cat didn’t have enough milk. Their whiskers had fallen out and they looked pitiful! We trapped them and brought the feral kittens indoors to start the long and challenging process of domestication! The totally feral mom cat was spayed (after destroying a vets waiting room!) and then taken to a nice retirement barn in the country. Little Lilli was so small (Lilliputian size!) she could fit with room to spare in the palm of your hand, obviously the “runt” of the litter. She was little in size only! Jerry, the lucky guy who removed them from the cage, receive a rather large nip from Lilli! Day after day we spent as much time as possible with the kittens, who mostly hid from us, sneaking out only when we were gone. We were finally able to lure them out with some very aromatic cat food. It took us about a month to tame them enough to handle them. I will never forget the day I took Lilli and placed her on my chest, she initially wanted to escape, but when she finally relaxed a bit, an auto response took place that thrilled my soul. She began to purr! Oh what a feeling! Stosh, had a very unusual nose, like my Polish grampa’s nose, so I named him Stanley Kowalski; we call him Stosh for short. No, I have never heard him screaming “STELLL-LAA!!!”, but he does have quite a loud and persistant “MEEEEE-OOOOW”.

Judee (aka JudeeJudeeJudee)
Judy past CFO of Meow.com
In October 1994, while visiting a local shelter I saw her. A little kitten who was so ugly, she was cute. The lady there told me that the “pretty” kittens get homes but ugly ones like Judee are usually euthanized (see our “spay and neuter” page). I said, “I’ll take her!” Despite a rather difficult first 3 months (Juddee had picked up a nasty diarrhea bug at the shelter), Judee blossomed into quite a lovely lady. Looking somewhat like an owl, her beautiful, saucer-like green eyes gives her the mysterious charm of some exotic foreign film star. Well, WE think so anyway! Stosh loves to attempt to play with/terrorize Juddee, but she is always the “Grande Dame” at the food bowl.

Postscript:

On October 2006, our beloved Judee passed away. We miss her terribly.  She lived a good life and was dearly loved and pampered. She gave us years of purrs, meows, and inspiration.
Judee girl, we dedicate the launching of our new Meow.com to you.  Love you always, rest in peace, darling!
